Simon Studer 

Founder

Simon Studer is specialized in modern and impressionist art. After having graduated in Political Science from the University of Lausanne, he pursued Art History at the University of Geneva, followed by a diploma at Sotheby’s Works of Art Course. Simon Studer worked for five years for Jan Krugier Gallery in Geneva before codirecting the Daniel Malingue Gallery specialized in Impressionist art. In 1993 he founded with Dominique Astrid Lévy the company LS Art Curators of Collections, renamed in 2004 Simon Studer Art.

In parallel with his work as consultant for renowned collectors, Simon Studer has also organized important exhibitions of Nicolas de Staël, Alberto Giacometti and Alexander Calder for museums and cultural institutions in Italy, Norway, Switzerland and in the USA. In Geneva, he led a variety of considerable projects, such as the Stairs Geneva exhibition of Peter Greenaway’s work (1994) and the international art contest and exhibition Uni Dufour (1996) for the bicentenary of the private bank Darier Hentsch & Cie.

Since 2009 Simon Studer has been actively involved in the founding board of the MAMCO (Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Geneva). He is President of the Foundation of the Friends of the Jenisch Museum in Vevey (from 2015) after having served as vice-president (2010-2015). He has actively collaborated on the founding and development of the Gilles Caron Foundation in Geneva between 2006 and 2010, and he has served as Council Member of the Foundation Board of the NGO «Displacement Solutions» (2012-2017), active in the protection of climate refugees.

 He has four children, and has been married for over thirty years.
